Association)
The Aims of Bucks Play Association are to support the provision
of facilities for recreation and other leisure-time occupations
for children
resident
in the
County
of Buckinghamshire and in other such areas that are in need of
support or provision.
For children who may have need by
reason of their youth or social and economic circumstances: and
which
will
improve the conditions
of life of such children by promoting their physical, educational,
mental and spiritual
well-being.
To support the provision of Toy Libraries,
the provision of inclusive Youth Clubs such as “PHAB Clubs” and
the provision of inclusive Play Schemes such as “Lets Play
Together” and
other similar schemes and activities
As part of the projects undertaken,
Bucks Play Association aims to:
• Encourage
voluntary and community groups to set up holiday play projects/schemes
and
out of school clubs and activities. Priority
for affiliation to AVPA and the benefits of membership is given
to non-commercial projects and schemes.
• Promotes the provision of quality play and leisure activities by promoting
good practice in play work to all relevant organisations and individuals. It
will promote the principles, values and benefits of quality, inclusive play opportunities
for all children to members, organisations and the wider public.
• Emphasis is on play for children providing opportunities for all children
to access affordable, freely chosen, stimulating, safe and varied play and leisure
opportunities.
•BPA believes that no child should be discriminated against on the grounds
of race, color, religion or ability. To redress an imbalance AVPA may target
certain minority groups of children and those with special needs.
• BPA aims to target areas of need according to population, current facilities
for play and identified social and economic need.
• BPA seeks, as far as possible, to encourage parental and community involvement,
fostering voluntary participation and support for children’s play.
